Your labor in the Lord is not in vain!

" Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain." 1 Corinthians 15:58

Cyriaque’s family is from Shammah Temple Fellowship—Mukaza Parish, one of our Partner churches in Bujumbura. They moved from the south of the country, Makamba Province, and now live in Bujumbura.

Before leaving Makamba, Cyriaque and his wife, Pamella, served in one of the Christian churches operating in that province. Despite the time they spent in Makamba after their marriage, they were dissatisfied with the teachings they received at church. They often felt confused about salvation and the Good News, even after many years of involvement. In addition to the shortcomings they noticed in the teachings, they were also affected by the frequent leadership crises occurring in the churches.

When they moved to Bujumbura, due to the crises they experienced, they decided never to serve in any church. They used to go to church and sit in the back with their two kids, not wanting to be known by anyone. They arrived almost late and left before the end of the service.

One day, they met someone who knew them in Makamba, and the person invited them to Shammah Temple-Mukaza. On their first day there, they loved the preaching and decided to return to that church again. As they visited the church, they were introduced to the foundational teachings that satisfied their thirst for knowledge. With only the first booklet of the first series on becoming a disciple, they were thrilled to learn and receive the true gospel alongside other essential Christian teachings.

After the first series of the first principles, their thirst to serve the Lord in the church arose again. They approached the church leaders and shared their desire to serve. Today, Cyriaque leads the worship team and the home cell, while Pamella leads the Sunday school at church. They are thankful to the Lord who visited them through the first principles.

This story is one of many encouraging stories of life transformation through the First Principles teachings. We thank the Lord for what He is doing through this church-based training based on the word of God in our different partner churches.
